Active Citizens Fund in Slovenia

About the project

The Active Citizens Fund 2014-2021 program in Slovenia is managed by the CNVOS – Center for Information, Cooperation and Development of NGOs in consortium with Zavod PIP and the Association for the Development of Voluntary Work Novo mesto.
The Fund’s central objectives at the European level are to strengthen civil society, promote active citizenship and empower vulnerable groups. In the 2014-2021 peroid, the Active Citizens Fund program places particular emphasis on long-term sustainable development and strengthening the non-governmental sector. In doing so, it seeks to strengthen the role of NGOs by promoting democratic governance, involving the public in decision-making processes at national and local levels, and promoting human rights. Another important priority of the program is the strengthening of cooperation between Slovenian civil society organizations and organizations from donor countries – Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.

The total value of the Active Citizens Fund Program in Slovenia is 3 million €, of which 2.5 million are allocated for co-financing projects. The Fund’s resources will be distributed through four calls for project proposals.
