Europe Direct Murska Sobota

The purpose of the Europe Direct Information Point in Murska Sobota was informing the population in the Pomurje region about the European Union. In addition to providing information, we also promoted thinking and debating about EU at the local level and provided responses to the events and current affairs to European Commission representatives to Slovenia. Europe Direct is one of the main tools of the European Union to provide citizens with information at the local level and to provide feedback to the European institutions. The key purpose of the ED information offices is to encourage mutual communication between the European institutions and the citizens, especially at local and regional levels, and the active involvement of European citizens in the debate on the future of the European Union.

Results:

  • advising on EU rights, policies, and various other topics (in person, by phone and by e-mail),
  • EU publications corner
  • a website and FB page with up-to-date EU information,
  • 40 e-newsletters on various contemporary EU topics,
  • 88 lectures on the EU counductedin primary and high schools,
  • 3 workshops in kindergartens
  • public debates and roundtables on employment, the future of the EU, climate change, green energy, active citizenship, the future of Pomurje etc.
  • workshops on employment in the EU, consumer rights, EP elections, intergenerational cooperation
  • Summer School on the EU
  • information campaign during Europeanweek of regions conducted in regional administrative centers,
  • consumer information campaigns (lectures, leaflets, counseling, booth),
  • competitions,
  • participation in various events (ETM, European Village, NGO Fair),
  • various publications created (EU in the Roma language, Employ-employable, Treaty of Lisbon in the form of a comic book, Conscious consumer = European consumer, Living in an interculturally and ethnically mixed environment),
  • the “Kindergarten: the beginning of active citizenship” pedagogical audio-visual tool
  • promotional films (Pomurje and green energy, Environmental friendly agriculture, Lifelong learning, Cross-border online shopping, Your Europe portal),
  • Talk to me (joint action with ED MB for the European Day of Languages),
  • joint campaigns with other Slovenian ED points (art competitions, promo films),
  • 96 media reports on ED Murska Sobota activity,
