We have obtained data from the Participatory Budgeting (PB) providers in the Municipality of Maribor on how many young people submitted project proposals in May and June this year. We are pleased to see that the percentage of young people aged between 15 and 29 has increased. In the last cycle of the PP (2021-22), 6.80 % of young people submitted project proposals, while in the current cycle (2022-23) 11.21 % of young people submitted proposals. Youth participation increased by 4.81% of all proposals submitted, or 64.8% compared to the 2021-22 cycle.
We imagine that the activities of our Loud&Clear campaign (New Democratic State of Youth project), which motivated young people to participate in the Maribor PB in various ways, also had an impact on the increase in participation. On the top right is a flyer that we distributed in schools, youth centres and restaurants where young people gather.
We are now waiting with great anticipation for the data on the percentage of youth participation in the voting on the Maribor PB projects.
